Paralyzed From Violence
Founder - Eddie Smith
Life must go on.
The chair will not define my life.
As a kid,
I was heavily into sports and basketball became my first love. I grew up in a very rough and dangerous environment, so staying in the gym became a safe haven for me.
I went to college for Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning. To keep myself out of the streets, I needed a way to provide for myself "legally", so I became a party and concert promoter.

January 24th, 2018 - 31 years old, I was shot in an attempted robbery. I was shot once in the back and my friend who was with me was shot in the face. We both survived.
After 5 weeks in ICU, I woke up and was transported to the rehab department. Since then, I’ve been doing everything to walk again.
I’ve been paralyzed for 5 years now and throughout this process, I’ve been super positive and very supportive to hundreds if not thousands of people. Helping them deal with the challenges of being a newly paralyzed individual and also helping them with funding for wheelchair equipment for home modifications, hand controls to drive, smart drive attachments, and my passion - my workout routine!!!!
I am now the Vice President of "The United Spinal Association Atlanta Chapter" and I have started my initiative to help others with spinal cord injuries, especially those who’ve got paralyzed by violence like myself. I feel like I have the story and background that can help and inspire others who may have been in my predicament or worst.
I’m building this program to help the youth steer away from violent incidents that can leave them or others paralyzed. This is my PASSION for this program!
